Summary Statement Writing Services
A Summary Statement is a collection of capability elements outlined in Career Episodes. It is a required piece of documentation to be submitted to Engineers Australia (EA) for evaluating the competency of any engineer moving to Australia for the provision of ready reference (mapping) to individual competency elements. The summary Statement should also strive to demonstrate that your engineering skills and professional and personal attributes are being applied.
It is written in tabular format as recommended by Engineers Australia, where all the competency units and elements are mentioned, and you must note how you applied that and also the relevant paragraph in the episode of the profession. You must be mindful of preparing the Summary Statement and include all the skills and knowledge in the Career Episodes and link them to suitable paragraphs.
There are four classes in which engineers can make CDR reports based on their technical skills and experience. Professional Engineer, Engineering Manager, Associate Engineer, and Engineering Technologist are the four categories. The overview statement format for all four categories is unique, and all the criteria you wrote in Career Episodes must be evaluated and covered.
How to prepare perfect Summary Statement for CDR report?
If you carefully examine a CDR Summary Statement sample, you will notice that it does not cover all of the indicators in each competency component. It tends to mean that while you just have to refer to the EA indicators, units, and elements in your career episode, it is not mandatory to cover all of them. In the Summary Statement, you examine all indicators you have covered, mentioned in all of the three Career Episodes that you have written.
The 3 types of indicators you need to aim for are:
Your Knowledge, skills, and expertise in engineering
Application of your engineering capabilities
Your personal and professional qualities
In each Career Episode, it is advisable to cover as many indicators as possible and to display the same in your Summary Statement as well. While planning and preparing CDR, our experts ensure that at least two indicators of ‘Knowledge and Skills Base’ and ‘Professional and Personal Attributes’, and at least three indicators of ‘Engineering Application Ability’ are covered and addressed in each Career Episode and that their reference paragraphs are specified in the Statement of CDR Summary.
Try not to miss information and details on engineering application activities you participated in as EA lays big emphasis on it – and it can make or break your CDR.
We’ve found that one of the major mistakes people make when writing the CDR Summary Statement is to direct the assessor to the wrong Career Episodes section. It shows that they are either incapable of properly understanding or analyzing things or lack detailed attention. In both cases, your CDR report is almost guaranteed to be rejected.
