Basic Continuing Professional Development Requirements

The applicant’s CPD record should be at least 150 hours in the prior three years. Out of the 150 hours available, applicants must dedicate the following labor hours:

• At least 50 hours of experience in your field of expertise
• 10 hours of risk management expertise is required.
• Company and management abilities are necessary for at least 15 hours.
• The applicant’s actions during their career will be covered in the remaining hours.
• Engineering academics and lecturers must demonstrate that they have completed at least 40 hours of CPD in a commercial context that meets the criteria mentioned above.

Continuing Professional Development Activities

• Short courses, lectures, forums, and discussion groups, as well as conferences, professional examinations, and technical gatherings.
• A postgraduate study that results in an award or specific tertiary course units that are not done to acquire an award;
• Independent research that broadens a candidate’s experience and talents.
• As a contribution to the engineering profession, I design and prepare presentations for courses, seminars, lectures, and conferences.
• Any other formal activities that you engage in during your working hours.

Engineers Australia recognizes four occupational categories. 

• Professional Engineer
